Biography
Justin Cook is an American voice actor, ADR director, and producer who has worked in anime dubbing since 1992 [1], starting out as an ADR engineer on Dragon Ball Z [2]. Born in Lubbock, Texas, on January 10, 1976 [1], he became one of Funimation's most recognizable in-house talents, working both in front of the microphone and behind the scenes directing other actors' performances [2]. His best-known role is Yusuke Urameshi, the delinquent-turned-Spirit-Detective hero of Yu Yu Hakusho, across the TV series, movie, and OVAs [1][2][3]. He later took on Eijiro Kirishima, the red-haired hero of My Hero Academia, and voiced Eustass Kid, one of the more volatile pirates of One Piece's Worst Generation [2][3]. His catalogue of supporting parts includes Dende in the Dragon Ball franchise, Hatsuharu Soma in the Fruits Basket trilogy, Jack the Ripper in Black Clover, and Touji Suzuhara in the Evangelion rebuild films [4]. Beyond acting, Cook has directed episodes of Dragon Ball, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Fruits Basket, and produced films including Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, Strike Witches: The Movie, and the 2019 theatrical release Dragon Ball Super: Broly [2].
