Synopsis

Humanity has lived for a century sealed behind massive walls, the only defense against Titans, giant, mindless humanoid creatures that devour people seemingly for sport. When a Colossal Titan smashes through the outer wall of his hometown, Eren Yeager watches his mother die and swears vengeance, joining the Survey Corps to fight back against a threat everyone else has learned to simply endure. What starts as straightforward monster-fighting action steadily reveals itself to be something far more complex, hinting at buried secrets about the Titans, the walls, and the world beyond them that reshape everything.

It became a genuine global phenomenon, credited with significantly boosting international interest in anime through its relentless tension, dark themes, and increasingly ambitious mythology. Its explosive popularity launched one of the defining anime franchises of the 2010s and 2020s, eventually spanning multiple seasons, numerous feature films, and one of the single most widely discussed and hotly debated endings in the entire medium's long history It remains a small but meaningful piece of the franchise's much larger, ongoing story for longtime fans to appreciate.
