Synopsis

Sakuta Azusagawa has already helped several girls through their own mysterious bouts of Puberty Syndrome, but this time the person struggling is his own girlfriend, Shoko Makinohara, whose cheerful public persona hides something the story slowly, carefully reveals is far more complicated and heartbreaking. As Sakuta tries to understand exactly what is happening to her, and to himself, he confronts questions about memory, identity, and love that the franchise has been quietly building toward for multiple entries. It is emotionally dense and genuinely moving, rewarding longtime fans of the series with real payoff.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai is a theatrical film based on Hajime Kamoshida's light novel series, animated by CloverWorks, and released in 2023 as a continuation of the acclaimed Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai franchise. It adapts one of the more emotionally complex arcs in the source material, and was praised for handling its central mystery with real care rather than treating it as just another Puberty Syndrome case of the week. The film further deepened the franchise's reputation for blending supernatural mystery with genuinely sincere emotional storytelling.
