Story
Synopsis
Ciel Phantomhive investigates rumors of a cult claiming to resurrect the dead, an inquiry that puts him and his demon butler Sebastian aboard a luxury ocean liner where the guests include most of the series' recurring cast. The situation deteriorates from society intrigue into full outbreak, with the ship's passengers turned into something considerably worse than corpses. The film delivers the franchise's usual combination of Victorian gothic aesthetics, elaborate action, and Sebastian's unflappable competence under absurd circumstances. Every set piece leans into the franchise's gothic excess without apology, and the ship setting gives the horror nowhere for anyone to run. Nobody escapes cleanly.
