Story

Synopsis

Having passed the rigorous entrance exams for Tokyo University, high-achieving student Hayato Kasukabe returns to his seaside hometown of Miura to sell and demolish Cafe Familia, his deceased grandmother's indebted seaside coffee shop. Upon entering, Hayato is shocked to discover that five young women, Shiragiku, Riho, Ami, Akane, and Ouka, are living in the building and working as cafe staff. Seeing how much the girls adored his grandmother and discovering her heartfelt final wishes, Hayato has a change of heart. Deciding to postpone his university plans, Hayato takes over as the cafe's manager, striving to turn the struggling seaside terrace into a thriving destination while navigating chaotic household antics.

The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses (Megami no Café Terrace) adapts the romantic comedy harem manga by Kouji Seo, serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine. Animated by Tezuka Productions and directed by Satoshi Kuwabara, the television series premiered in April 2023 on MBS and TBS's Super Animeism block. The show was praised for its retro seaside cafe aesthetic, sharp comedic timing, and well-developed ensemble chemistry, leading to a second television season broadcast in Summer 2024.
