Story

Synopsis

Major Motoko Kusanagi and Public Security Section 9 face an even more dangerous threat than before: a wave of politically motivated terrorism tied to refugee unrest and a shadowy conspiracy reaching into the highest levels of government. As the team investigates a mysterious phenomenon where an idea itself seems to spread and radicalize people independent of any single mastermind, the show digs deep into questions of identity, ideology, and what makes a self in a world of networked minds and cybernetic bodies.
