Story
Synopsis
Daikichi Kawachi attends his grandfather's funeral and discovers a six-year-old girl named Rin, the old man's illegitimate daughter, whom nobody in the family wants to take responsibility for. Almost out of spite, Daikichi takes her home, and then has to actually figure out how to raise a child while holding down a demanding job he built his entire life around. The story is unusually practical about single parenthood, dealing honestly with daycare logistics, career sacrifice, and the slow, unglamorous work of becoming someone a child can depend on.
