Story
Synopsis
Yuuko sends Watanuki and Doumeki to a mansion whose owner has vanished, joining a group of strangers invited to solve the riddle of the house and claim it. The building itself begins consuming the guests one by one as each fails to understand the rules governing it, and Watanuki has to work out what the mansion actually wants before it works out what he wants. The film keeps CLAMP's characteristic blend of Japanese folklore, elegant design, and consequences that arrive through wishes carelessly made. Every guest wants something, and the house is willing to provide it.

Produced by Production I.G and adapted from CLAMP's manga, this film released as a double feature alongside the Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle movie, reflecting the two series' deliberately interconnected structure. xxxHOLiC is built around the principle that every wish carries an exact price, and its self-contained supernatural cases give it an episodic quality that suits feature-length treatment. CLAMP's sprawling shared universe, which threads characters across numerous series, remains one of the more ambitious continuity projects in manga.
