Synopsis
A nameless wandering swordsman who has sworn off drawing his blade takes a job protecting Kotaro, a young boy pursued across Sengoku-era Japan by a unit of Ming dynasty warriors who need him for a ritual. Among them is Luo-Lang, a blond swordsman who fights purely for the pleasure of finding someone capable of killing him. The film is essentially a chase built around two exceptional fighters converging, and the swordplay is staged with a weight and brutality that most animated action avoids. Every exchange between them is staged with real weight and physical consequence.
