Synopsis

Rintaro Okabe faces the emotional fallout of the choices he made across the Steins;Gate timeline, forced to confront a painful decision involving Kurisu Makise that he thought he'd already resolved. When new complications threaten to unravel the fragile happy ending he fought so hard to secure, he has to decide whether meddling with time again is worth the risk of losing everything he's rebuilt. The film leans harder into romance and emotional stakes than the original series, closing out loose threads for its most devoted fans.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Produced by White Fox as a direct sequel to the acclaimed Steins;Gate anime, this film adapts material considered part of the broader visual novel canon, giving longtime fans a proper epilogue to Okabe and Kurisu's story. Steins;Gate itself is frequently ranked among the greatest anime of all time for its intricate time-travel plotting and unexpectedly devastating emotional beats, and this film was received as a satisfying, if bittersweet, coda to that legacy. It's best watched only after finishing the original series, since it assumes full familiarity with its timeline mechanics.
