About the studio
AT-X stands for Anime Theatre X, and honestly, the name does most of the explaining. This Tokyo based satellite channel has been broadcasting since December 24, 1997, with the company itself, AT-X Inc., formally established June 26, 2000 as part of the TV Tokyo group. Where terrestrial networks air one or two anime slots, AT-X built its entire identity around late night anime, streaming a huge volume of seasonal shows across satellite, cable, and IPTV. *If TV Tokyo is the anime friendly network, AT-X is the fan who never left the marathon.* It's also a frequent production committee member, putting money behind the very shows it broadcasts. For fans in Japan chasing every new season simulcast, AT-X has quietly been one of the most reliable outlets in the business for over 25 years, minus the pretense of needing to also program the evening news.
