Story
Synopsis
This film continues directly from the television series, pushing Riko and Reg even deeper into the Abyss as they pursue answers about Riko's mother and the true nature of the pit's most dangerous layers. What they find down there is some of the franchise's most harrowing material yet, forcing brutal, permanent sacrifices that test exactly how far these two children are willing to go for the truth. It does not soften the series' willingness to inflict genuine horror on its young leads, delivering a gut-wrenching escalation that reshapes their journey going forward.

Made in Abyss Movie 3: Fukaki Tamashii no Reimei, known as Dawn of the Deep Soul, is based on Akihito Tsukushi's manga, animated by Kinema Citrus, and released theatrically in 2020.
