Synopsis

Tanya Degurechaff, a ruthless salaryman reincarnated as a small girl in a magical analogue of World War One Europe, continues waging war with a competence entirely disproportionate to her apparent age. The film pits her against a Federation force including a mage with a personal grudge, escalating the conflict while Tanya's ongoing dispute with the entity she refuses to call God continues in the background. Her strategic brilliance remains entirely in service of her own self-interest, which is precisely the joke. Every tactical decision she makes is correct, and none of it is remotely admirable.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adapted from Carlo Zen's light novels by NUT, Saga of the Evil follows an unusual premise for isekai, dropping a cynical adult into a child's body in an alternate-history European war rather than a fantasy adventure. Its serious engagement with military strategy, logistics, and political maneuvering sets it apart from the genre's typical concerns. This film continues the television series' story directly, and the franchise remains a favorite among viewers interested in military fiction with a genuinely unpleasant protagonist at its center. Its engagement with logistics and strategy sets it well apart from typical isekai.
