Biography
Kazunori Ozawa is a Japanese animator born June 15, 1984, who trained at Studio Pastoral under mentor Eitoshi Omori after graduating from the Yoyogi Animation Gakuin animation school, before moving into freelance work with a continuing affiliation to the studio BLADE [1]. He built a reputation for effects animation, particularly explosions and combat sequences, and became known industry-wide for the Explosion Magic sequences he animated on KonoSuba [1]. He worked as both action and effects supervisor and key animator on the soccer series Blue Lock, and as co-director and key animator on Digimon Adventure: (2020) [1]. He has also contributed key animation to Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and KanColle, and worked on the DC direct-to-video film Catwoman: Hunted [2]. In 2019 he published two technical books on animation effects drawing [1]. Ozawa maintains a public account on X (Twitter) under the handle @oza__kazu [1][3].
