This film picks up after Kaguya and Miyuki's long-awaited confession, following the newly official couple as they navigate their final stretch of high school together, complete with all the awkward, sweet, and occasionally chaotic milestones that come with an actual relationship instead of an elaborate mind game. Familiar faces from the student council return for one more round of scheming, jealousy, and comedic overanalysis, only now the stakes are softer: not whether they will confess, but what happens after. It is a warm, fitting coda for two characters who spent years overthinking their way toward something simple.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai is a 2024 theatrical film based on Aka Akasaka's manga, produced by A-1 Pictures as a direct continuation of the Ultra Romantic television season's ending. Rather than introducing major new conflict, it was designed as an epilogue, giving fans a fuller, big-screen send-off following the anime's acclaimed hour-long finale. It was well received for maintaining the series' sharp comedic timing while allowing its central couple genuine, uncomplicated happiness, closing out one of the most celebrated romantic comedies of its era on a satisfying note.
Continuing on directly from the final episode of Kaguya-sama: Love is War Ultra Romantic, this film is all about the fallout—namely the complete and total destruction of the status quo.
