Story

Synopsis

Novelist Makio Koudai has built a quiet, solitary life for herself, so when her fifteen-year-old niece Asa Takumi loses both parents in an accident and needs a guardian, taking her in is not exactly a natural fit. The two are prickly, guarded, and grieving in completely different ways, and the show does not rush their bond. Instead it sits patiently with the awkward silences, small kindnesses, and slow accumulation of trust between two people who never expected to need each other.
