Story
Synopsis
Broly, a Saiyan raised in isolation by a father consumed by resentment toward Vegeta's bloodline, is brought back into the picture by Frieza, who correctly identifies him as a weapon. What follows is essentially one enormous fight, as Goku and Vegeta face an opponent whose power grows continuously throughout the battle and who does not actually want to be fighting at all. The film also reworks the Saiyan origin story, giving the franchise's foundational history a fuller and more coherent shape. Every stage of the fight escalates until the landscape itself stops mattering.

Directed by Tatsuya Nagamine with character designs by Naohiro Shintani, Dragon Ball Super: Broly earned widespread acclaim for its animation quality, which departed markedly from the television series' style and is frequently cited among the best-animated fights in the franchise's history.
