Story
Synopsis
Nobita stumbles onto pieces of an enormous robot and, with Doraemon's help, assembles it in a mirror dimension where nobody will notice a giant machine sitting in the backyard. Then a girl named Riruru arrives looking for the robot, and the boys learn it belongs to an entire mechanical army preparing to invade Earth and enslave humanity. What follows mixes big sci-fi spectacle with the franchise's usual warmth, as Nobita and his friends scramble to stop a war they're completely unequipped to fight, and Riruru is forced to reconsider everything she believes about humans.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
This film is a remake of the beloved 1986 Doraemon movie Nobita and the Steel Troops, updated with new animation and an altered ending that adds fresh characters and a different emotional resolution. The original is widely regarded as one of the darkest and most affecting entries in the entire Doraemon film series, which made the remake a point of debate among longtime fans comparing the two versions. Based on Fujiko F. Fujio's enduring manga, the Doraemon films have been an annual fixture in Japanese cinemas for decades, functioning as many children's first real encounter with science fiction storytelling.
