Synopsis
Tanjiro Kamado returns home to find his family slaughtered by a demon, with his younger sister Nezuko transformed into one herself, though she somehow retains fragments of her humanity. Determined to find a cure and avenge his family, Tanjiro trains under a demon slayer and joins the Demon Slayer Corps, hunting demons across Taisho-era Japan while protecting Nezuko from those who'd kill her on sight. The story blends tragic backstory, breathtaking swordplay, and surprisingly tender sibling devotion at its emotional core. Every arc adds new allies and enemies to Tanjiro's steadily growing world.
⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adapted from Koyoharu Gotouge's manga by ufotable, Demon Slayer became a genuine cultural phenomenon, driven largely by its stunning fusion of traditional hand-drawn animation and digital effects during combat sequences. Its box office success, particularly with the Mugen Train film, broke Japanese box office records and pushed the franchise into truly mainstream global recognition. The series is widely credited with sparking a new wave of interest in modern shonen anime, turning ufotable's already strong reputation into a global animation benchmark. Its soundtrack and visual polish are still cited as genre-defining years after release.

There is no doubt that the anime's animation quality is not good; it is absolutely mind-blowing. I have been watching this anime since 2019, and it has never seemed to disappoint; it is one of the finest stories so far. Not gonna claim that I'm a super fan or anything, but I have a Hanafuda earring pendant in my accessories box. :P
