9th Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025

Solo Leveling made history here, becoming the first Korean animated production to win Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. It beat a field that included Dandadan, Delicious in Dungeon, Frieren, Kaijuu 8-gou, and The Apothecary Diaries, and it was only the opening trophy in what became a nine-win night.

Look Back took this over a genuinely stacked slate of theatrical releases, including My Hero Academia: You're Next and Spy x Family Code: White. A quiet one-shot adaptation beating the franchise blockbusters is exactly the kind of upset this category exists for.

Demon Slayer's Hashira Training Arc won this, the first of two trophies for ufotable's adaptation tonight, beating One Piece and Spy x Family season 2 for the honor.

Solo Leveling took this too, the second of what became nine wins across the night. Dandadan and Delicious in Dungeon both put up a real fight.

Ninja Kamui took home the trophy built for shows without a manga to lean on, beating Girls Band Cry and four other originals in a genuinely open field this year.

Naoyuki Onda's designs for Dandadan won this, beating out Frieren and The Apothecary Diaries for the honor.

Keiichiro Saito took this for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, beating Fuga Yamashiro's Dandadan and Haruo Sotozaki's Demon Slayer for the trophy.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End won this, the first of two wins for Madhouse's adaptation tonight, beating Dandadan and Delicious in Dungeon for the honor.

Solo Leveling out-punched Demon Slayer, Dandadan, and Kaijuu 8-gou for this one. Trophy number three of nine for the night's biggest winner.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles took this over Delicious in Dungeon and Spy x Family season 2, a genuinely funny result in a genuinely funny field.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End won this too, beating The Apothecary Diaries and Pluto for the trophy built for quiet, devastating storytelling. Second win of the night for Madhouse.

Re:Zero season 3 took the first-ever running of this category, beating Konosuba's third season and Mushoku Tensei for the honor.

Ao no Hako (Blue Box) won this outright, beating A Sign of Affection and Ranma1/2 for the trophy. Quiet and grounded, exactly what voters wanted this year.

Make Heroine ga Oosugiru! (Makeine) took this over Laid-Back Camp season 3 and Sound! Euphonium 3, a genuinely stacked field for a genuinely funny show.

Sung Jinwoo won this for Solo Leveling, beating Frieren, Kafka Hibino, and two separate Dandadan nominees for the honor. One of nine trophies for the show tonight.

Fern took this for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, beating fellow castmate Himmel and Dungeon Meshi's Senshi for the trophy.

Anya Forger won this for Spy x Family season 2, fighting off Frieren herself and Delicious in Dungeon's Senshi for the honor.

Creepy Nuts' Otonoke, Dandadan's opening theme, won this over the group's own Bling-Bang-Bang-Born from Mashle. Yes, they were nominated against themselves here too. Yes, they still won.

Hiroyuki Sawano's score for Solo Leveling took this, beating Frieren's Evan Call and Demon Slayer's Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina. Trophy number four of nine for the show.

Otonoke won again here, Creepy Nuts' second trophy of the night for the same song. Dandadan's nominations kept piling up everywhere except Anime of the Year.

krage's request closed out Solo Leveling and took this trophy, beating Dandadan's TAIDADA and Kaijuu 8-gou's Nobody by OneRepublic.

Aoi Yuki took this one for her performance as Maomao in The Apothecary Diaries, edging out a field that included Atsumi Tanezaki's Frieren and Natsuki Hanae's turn in Dandadan. One of the tightest categories of the night.

Aleks Le won for voicing Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, beating AJ Beckles' Okarun and Mallorie Rodak's Frieren for the trophy. Fifth win of nine for the show.

Miguel Ángel Leal took this for voicing Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan's final chapters, beating a field that leaned heavily toward Solo Leveling and Dandadan performances.

Masumi Mutsuda won for voicing Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, the show's sixth trophy of the night, beating Sandra Villa's Frieren and Jorge Peña's Senshi.

Adrien Antoine won for voicing Kafka Hibino in Kaijuu 8-gou, beating Marie Nonnenmacher's Frieren and Julien Allouf's Jinshi for the trophy.

Daniel Schlauch won for voicing Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece, beating Felix Kamin's Kafka Hibino and Magdalena Höfner's Marcille for the honor.

Ilaria Pellicone won for voicing Kyomoto in Look Back, beating Mattia Bressan's Kafka Hibino and Katia Sorrentino's Neia Baraja for the trophy. A quiet film winning over the usual shonen heavyweights.

Charles Emmanuel won for voicing Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, the show's seventh trophy of the night, beating Gigi Patta's Maomao and Heitor Assali's Kaijuu 8-gou performance.

Attack on Titan closed out its era with this honorary trophy, recognition for a series that spent a decade redefining what a modern anime could look like outside Japan.
