Story
Synopsis
Shigeo Kageyama, nicknamed Mob, possesses immense psychic power capable of leveling entire city blocks, but he actively suppresses it, more interested in joining the body improvement club and working up the courage to confess to his crush than in flaunting abilities that terrify even him. Under the tutelage of Reigen, a con-artist psychic who genuinely cares about him despite having zero actual powers of his own, Mob navigates supernatural threats while quietly wrestling with what it means to define yourself by something other than raw strength. It is inventive, funny, and surprisingly sincere about self-worth beneath its stunning, unconventional animation.

Mob Psycho 100 is based on ONE's webcomic, the same creator behind One Punch Man, animated by Studio Bones, and aired in 2016. It was immediately praised for its wildly experimental, boundary-pushing animation during action sequences, a bold departure from typical shonen visual conventions, alongside a genuinely heartfelt story about self-acceptance and restraint. Its distinctive style and emotional sincerity quickly built a devoted following, establishing Mob Psycho 100 as one of the most creatively distinctive anime franchises of its era and setting up two acclaimed sequel seasons.
