Synopsis
Mizore and Nozomi have been friends since middle school, but as their concert band prepares a piece based on a fairy tale about a girl who must release the bird she loves, the parallels become unbearable. Mizore's dependence on Nozomi and Nozomi's growing awareness of her own limits create a quiet, devastating asymmetry that neither can articulate. The film communicates almost entirely through footsteps, glances, and instrumental performance, with dialogue carrying considerably less weight than what goes unsaid between them. Every scene is built around what neither girl is willing to say aloud.
