Story
Synopsis
Newly transformed into a vampire after making a desperate pact with the dying Kiss-shot, Koyomi Araragi has to confront just how much of his humanity he is willing to trade away to save her. Hot-Blooded pushes him into direct, brutal conflict with two of the three vampire hunters responsible for reducing Kiss-shot to her current, weakened state, forcing Araragi to fight battles his newly vampiric body can barely survive. It is a tense, visually striking middle chapter, deepening the trilogy's central question about sacrifice while building directly toward its devastating final confrontation.

Kizumonogatari II: Nekketsu-hen is the second film in the Kizumonogatari trilogy, based on NisiOisiN's light novel prequel to the main Monogatari series, produced by Studio Shaft under directors Akiyuki Shinbo and Tatsuya Oishi, and released theatrically in Japan in 2016. The trilogy is widely regarded as the visual and narrative peak of the entire Monogatari franchise, and this middle installment was praised for escalating both the action and emotional stakes ahead of the trilogy's acclaimed conclusion, cementing Kizumonogatari's reputation for some of Shaft's most striking, purposeful animation.
