Synopsis
Kino rides a talking motorcycle named Hermes from country to country, staying exactly three days in each before moving on. Every nation operates on some strange organizing principle, a law, a custom, or a philosophy taken to its logical extreme, and Kino observes without intervening, refusing to judge societies that would horrify most visitors. The three-day rule exists precisely to prevent attachment, and the series builds its quiet unease from watching a traveler who has learned that involvement rarely helps anyone.
