Synopsis
In the year 2049, the world is captivated by the Immortal Grand Prix, an adrenaline-charged motorsport where two three-pilot teams clash inside mechanized combat suits at speeds exceeding three hundred miles per hour. Having earned promotion to the elite premier league, the underdog Team Satomi, led by forward pilot Takeshi Jin, faces formidable corporate-backed juggernauts. In addition to mastering razor-sharp team coordination on the asphalt track, the pilots must execute complex martial maneuvers to disable rival mechs. With heavy physical damage and psychological strain testing their endurance, Satomi fights to claim the championship cup.

Initially conceived as a five-episode micro-series co-produced by Cartoon Network and Production I.G, this 2003 pilot served as the creative foundation for the full-length 2005 television series. Directed by Kazuya Murata with mechanical concepts developed by Shinji Aramaki, the animation aired during Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block in September 2003. Known for its dynamic cell-shaded racing sequences and energetic breakbeat electronic soundtrack, the project demonstrated early international co-production synergy between American broadcasters and premier Japanese anime studios.
