Synopsis

The third film in the Code Geass recap trilogy brings Lelouch vi Britannia's rebellion toward its conclusion, as the Black Knights' campaign against the Holy Britannian Empire collides with his brother Schneizel's strategy and with the truth about his own family's ambitions. Suzaku Kururugi remains the opposing force and the closest thing he has to a friend, and the film builds toward a resolution that reframes everything Lelouch has done. The alterations from the television version set up a continuation the original ending precluded. Every alliance he builds exists to be spent at exactly the right moment.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Produced by Sunrise as the third of three recap films condensing the original Code Geass television series, this entry made deliberate narrative changes to enable the sequel film Lelouch of the Re;surrection. The original series is regarded as one of the most influential mecha anime of its era, celebrated for its escalating political scheming and a protagonist whose methods are genuinely monstrous. The trilogy's alterations divided longtime fans, though the films succeeded in bringing the franchise back into active production. Its narrative alterations remain contentious among viewers loyal to the original ending.
