Synopsis

A series of murders connects to a newly built complex of skyscrapers, and the investigation forces Conan to work through architectural details, a decade-old grudge, and an increasingly narrow window before something detonates. Heiji Hattori joins the case, Ran and the Detective Boys end up in genuine danger, and the film escalates into one of the franchise's most memorable climaxes as the building itself becomes both the puzzle and the threat. The deduction and the physical peril arrive simultaneously. Every clue points toward an architect whose grudge has been building for years.

The fifth Detective Conan film, based on Gosho Aoyama's manga, Countdown to Heaven is consistently ranked among the very best entries in the franchise, praised for combining a strong central mystery with a genuinely tense climax and unusually strong material for the recurring cast. The annual Conan film series has run for decades as one of Japanese cinema's most dependable commercial fixtures, and the early entries are widely regarded as its strongest for prioritizing deduction over spectacle. Its climax remains one of the most frequently cited moments in the entire franchise.
