Synopsis
Yuna Yuki belongs to her school's Hero Club, an organization dedicated to helping people with whatever they need, which occasionally involves being transformed into magical warriors to defend a barrier protecting humanity from entities called Vertex. The early stretch is bright, warm, and built around friendship, with the fighting treated almost as an extracurricular. Then the mechanism behind their power becomes clear, and the girls discover exactly what the system extracts from anyone who uses it, permanently and without any possibility of appeal. Every cheerful early episode becomes considerably harder to rewatch afterward.
