Gripping, weighty drama that transcends time to deliver a message that we should all be paying attention to. A stunning achievement.

A detective, a serial killer of robots, and old sins.
Synopsis
Europol detective Gesicht investigates a string of murders targeting the world's most advanced robots and the humans who championed robot rights, each killing marked by a strange, ritualistic detail involving horns. As the case deepens, it drags up buried history from a past war and raises uncomfortable questions about what separates artificial life from human life, and whether either side has really earned the moral high ground. The mystery unfolds slowly, favoring atmosphere and philosophical weight over action, building toward a reveal that reframes everything that came before it.

Tezuka himself would have loved this expansion of, and homage to, one of his own stories. As with Atom: The Beginning, this is aimed at a considerably older audience than the original series, and so the constraints of a kid's show are largely removed.
