Story

Synopsis

While enjoying a lively outdoor barbecue with his fellow Hidden Leaf genin, Naruto Uzumaki accidentally unearths a mystical teapot on the beach. Rubbing the kettle summons a pompous magical genie who offers to grant three absolute wishes to whoever controls the vessel. Instantly, peaceful relaxation descends into cutthroat ninja competition as Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Neji, Kiba, and the rest of the gang desperately battle to grab the pot and claim their personal desires. Through clumsy accidents and petty squabbles, wishes are hilariously squandered on frivolous complaints, leading to chaotic comedic fallout before anyone can make a sensible request.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Released in Japanese theaters alongside the fourth Shippuden film, *The Lost Tower*, in July 2010, *Naruto: The Magic Genie and the Three Wishes* is a fourteen-minute comedic short produced by Studio Pierrot. Serving as a lighthearted counterweight to the dramatic time-travel plot of the main feature, the short celebrates the original pre-Shippuden cast dynamics with fast-paced physical comedy, witty visual gags, and nostalgic ensemble bickering. It remains a fan-favorite comedic extra highlighting the chaotic youthful charm of the Leaf Village genin.
