Synopsis
Yusaku Godai is failing his university entrance exams while living in a dilapidated boarding house full of tenants who treat his study time as a communal joke. Then Kyoko Otonashi arrives as the new manager, and Godai falls for her immediately, a situation complicated by her recent widowhood and his complete lack of prospects. The story unfolds across years rather than months, following both of them through career changes, rivals, and the slow work of two people becoming ready for each other. Every misunderstanding between them feels earned rather than manufactured.
