Synopsis

Fifteen-year-old middle school student Jun Tendo lives a quiet modern life in Kyoto until a demonic shadow monster attacks him in an alley. Seeking refuge inside an ancient Buddhist temple, head priest Genun reveals that the pursuer was an oni, an ancient demon. Suddenly, Genun activates a mystical portal, transporting Jun twelve centuries backward into the Heian period. Noble courtiers hail Jun as their prophesied savior, destined to awaken the mythical eight-headed dragon Yamata no Orochi to exterminate the oni. However, upon encountering a gentle oni maiden named Mizuchi, Jun discovers that the war is built on imperial deceit.
