Story
Synopsis
Simon lives underground in a village that has never known open air, digging tunnels while his self-declared brother Kamina insists that a surface world exists and that they are going to reach it. When a giant mecha crashes through the ceiling followed by a girl with a rifle, everything Kamina claimed turns out to be true, and considerably more dangerous than advertised. The film compiles the first stretch of the series into a theatrical retelling with new animation, covering the ascent to the surface and the war that follows.
