Synopsis

Chito and Yuuri travel across the ruins of a vast, abandoned multi-level city in a small tracked vehicle, scavenging fuel and rations with no destination beyond upward. Civilization has ended, they do not know why, and they have essentially accepted it. What remains is companionship, small pleasures, and long conversations about God, memory, and meaning conducted between two people who will very likely be the last ones to have them. The tone stays warm despite the setting being utterly hopeless. Every conversation between them carries weight neither of them acknowledges directly.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adapted from Tsukumizu's manga by White Fox, Girls' Last Tour occupies an unusual space between iyashikei comfort anime and genuine existential horror, using a gentle art style and slow pacing to deliver material about extinction and meaninglessness. Its refusal to explain the apocalypse or offer hope is central to its effect. The series has developed a devoted following among viewers who found its combination of coziness and cosmic bleakness uniquely affecting, and it remains one of the most distinctive post-apocalyptic works in the medium. Its combination of coziness and existential dread remains genuinely unique.
