Synopsis
Strange spatial phenomena occur across Karakura Town when hordes of blank, unidentifiable white spirits known as Blanks begin materializing in the streets. Substitute Shinigami Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki encounter Senna, an energetic, amnesiac Soul Reaper wielding an unfamiliar zanpakuto named Mirokumaru. Simultaneously in the Soul Society, the skies reflect an imminent collision with the Human World caused by the Valley of Screams. A banished clan of ancient Soul Reapers called the Dark Souls, led by Ganryu, emerges to capture Senna, seeking to use her unique spiritual essence to collapse both dimensions into mutual annihilation.

Ichigo discovers that Senna is the Shinenju, a living sentient agglomeration of countless human memories lost in the cycle of reincarnation, and that her death will collapse the dimensional barriers. Ganryu captures Senna and binds her to the central vortex in the Valley of Screams. Ichigo and elite Soul Society captains launch a rescue mission, obliterating Ganryu's mercenaries. To prevent both worlds from colliding, Senna channels all her energy to separate the dimensions, sacrificing her existence. As she fades away in Ichigo's arms, her memories vanish from everyone's minds, leaving only a lingering red ribbon.
