Blade of the Phantom Master is essentially a series of wonderfully made action pieces, jammed in between some average conversational work and blended together by an overall story that is just in pieces by the end. But it's not all bad.

Synopsis
Following the ruinous collapse of the imperial kingdom Jushin, tyrannical feudal lords exploit defenseless villagers across lawless wasteland provinces. Munsu, a cynical former military general turned wandering undercover magistrate, traverses desolate frontiers armed with pistols and a legendary bronze seal. After crossing paths with an idealistic explorer fatally ambushed by cannibal goblins, Munsu vows to locate the dying youth captive sweetheart Chunhyan. Unsheathing ancient phantom military battalions summoned from the spirit realm, the relentless magistrate enforces brutal retribution upon oppressive warlords and liberates desperate commoners.
