Synopsis

This final film in the Golden Age trilogy delivers the Eclipse, the event toward which every preceding hour has been building. Griffith, broken and desperate after a year of torture, is offered a way to reclaim his dream, and the price is the Band of the Hawk. Guts and Casca survive what follows, but survival is arguably the cruelest available outcome. The film covers the material that defines the entire Berserk franchise, and it does not soften any part of it. Every relationship the trilogy carefully built exists specifically to be destroyed here.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Produced by Studio 4°C and adapted from Kentaro Miura's manga, this trilogy covers the Golden Age arc, widely regarded as one of the greatest storylines in manga history. The films' use of CGI drew criticism from some readers, though the adaptation is generally considered a more faithful treatment of the arc than the earlier 1997 television series, which stopped short of the full conclusion. Miura's death left the manga unfinished, giving these adaptations added weight for readers of a work that remains permanently incomplete. Its arc remains the single most discussed storyline in the entire medium.
