Biography
Shigenori Taniguchi is a Japanese animator whose key animation and animation direction credits run through some of the biggest anime of the past two decades [1]. His name turns up as a key animator on Death Note, Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch, and Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage, and he has taken animation director duties on shows including Fairy Tail, The Quintessential Quintuplets, and My Home Hero [1]. His credits also include key animation on Dr. Stone and My Hero Academia, and extensive key animation work stretching back to One Piece in the late 1990s [1]. Outside Japan's TV anime pipeline, Taniguchi is credited as chief animation director on the Warner Bros. animated feature The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim [1], a rare case of a mid-career Japanese key animator leading animation on a major Western theatrical release. Little further biographical detail about him, such as a birthdate or personal history, has surfaced in English or Japanese sources; his public record is essentially his filmography.
