Code Geass Watch Order: Every Movie in Order, in order

Think of Akito the Exiled like an intense spin-off restaurant opened across the globe by the same master chef. You leave Japan and Area 11 behind, head over to the European war front, and join the W-0 unit: a squad of exiled young Eleven pilots forced into suicidal frontline battles piloting high-speed quadruped Alexander Knightmares. Sounds intense, isn't it...

Here is the biggest treat for long-time franchise fans: while the story stars Akito Hyuga and commander Leila Malcal, you also get to witness what happened during the mysterious time gap between seasons. Yes, that means seeing Suzaku Kururugi escorting a certain eyepatch-wearing military advisor named Julius Kingsley. If you know, you know!

To help you navigate these five cinematic chapters without getting bogged down by bonus disc content, here is the complete watch guide.

The Five Core Movies (The Main Course)

1. Chapter 1: The Wyvern Arrives: Introduces the European theatre, Akito Hyuga, and the ghost-like Geass curse driving his combat survival instincts.
2. Chapter 2: The Wyvern Divided: The W-0 unit undertakes an impossible drop mission behind enemy lines in Warsaw while Britannia's European knights plot.
3. Chapter 3: The Brightness Falls: Political betrayal erupts as Julius Kingsley and Suzaku Kururugi arrive to take command of the Euro-Britannian forces.
4. Chapter 4: Memories of Hatred: Shin Hyuga executes a bloody coup among the Knights of St. Michael, pushing Akito's squad to their breaking point.
5. Chapter 5: To Beloved Ones: The thrilling cinematic finale resolving the brotherly blood feud and setting the stage for the global events of R2.

What about the Picture Dramas?

Chapters two, four, and five each received short bonus picture dramas on the home video releases. These are lighthearted, dialogue-heavy side sketches featuring the squad relaxing and bantering. They are completely skippable if you are just here for the mech action and core storyline.

At the end, Akito the Exiled offers some of the crispest Knightmare Frame CGI combat in the entire franchise, backed by fascinating world-building. Watch all five movies after Season 1 before diving into R2, and you will appreciate the global scale of Britannia's war even more. Goodbye and happy watching!
