Story
Synopsis
Coco has always dreamed of becoming a witch, only to be told her whole life that magic is an inherited gift she could never have. When she secretly witnesses a witch named Qifrey at work, she discovers the truth: magic is drawn, not born, meaning anyone patient enough to learn the craft's intricate rules could master it too. After an accident turns her own mother to stone, Coco is taken in as Qifrey's apprentice, determined to master magic properly and undo the damage her curiosity caused. Tongari Boushi no Atelier, known internationally as Witch Hat Atelier, is based on Kamome Shirahama's manga, animated by Bug Films and directed by Ayumu Watanabe, premiering in April 2026 after a delay from its originally planned 2025 release.
