Story

Synopsis

In Strong World, the Straw Hats face Shiki the Golden Lion, a legendary pirate who once escaped the world's greatest prison and has spent twenty years plotting his revenge on the world. Using his power to levitate anything, Shiki has raised a floating archipelago of mutated beasts and now aims to unleash devastation, kidnapping Nami to exploit her navigational genius for his scheme. Scattered and outmatched, Luffy and the crew must fight across bizarre sky-islands to rescue Nami and stop Shiki's plan. It is a big, confident adventure with sky-high spectacle, a formidable villain, and the crew's unbreakable bonds put to a serious test.

One Piece Film: Strong World premiered in 2009 as the tenth film and a landmark for the franchise: it was the first movie with series creator Eiichiro Oda deeply involved, writing the original story and designing the villain, Shiki. That hands-on authorship made it feel far more official than earlier movies, and Shiki was even acknowledged as a genuine piece of One Piece history. Released to celebrate the series' tenth anniversary, it was a huge box-office success and is widely regarded as one of the best One Piece films. It set the template for the ambitious, Oda-guided movies that followed, like Film: Gold and Film: Red.
