Synopsis

Escaping a Marine ambush with a desperate mid-air getaway, the Straw Hats crash-land on Hand Island for repairs. Exploring the town, Luffy befriends an old wax sculptor named Diego, after hilariously trying to eat Diego's ultra-realistic wax fruit. When Luffy learns that Diego's apprentice, Regis, was jailed by the Marines for his skill at crafting incredibly solid wax, the crew springs into action to break him out. Cue a rescue, a Marine scuffle, and a classic Straw Hat mess. The best part? In the chaos of fleeing, they realize they have accidentally left Zoro behind on the island. Some things never change.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Episode of Luffy: Adventure on Hand Island is a One Piece television special produced by Toei Animation and aired in December 2012. It was created as a tie-in to celebrate the release of the twelfth film, One Piece Film: Z, and notably broadcast on the very same day the movie hit theaters. Like the franchise's other TV specials, it is an anime-original, non-canon story that sits outside Oda's manga continuity. It is a light, self-contained adventure built to give fans a fun bonus alongside the film, complete with the crew's trademark comedy, a good-hearted guest character, and Zoro's eternal, running-gag talent for getting lost.
