Synopsis

In this early TV special, the Straw Hats stumble upon an enormous hole in the ocean, and at the bottom sits a mysterious island called the Ocean's Navel. Legend says its treasure can grant any wish, so naturally the crew dives in to find it. But the island's inhabitants have agendas of their own, and the whirlpool-ringed city is being torn apart by giant monsters said to guard that very treasure. As Luffy and company battle the guardians, they accidentally unleash something far worse. It is a compact, standalone adventure: a detour rather than a chapter, packed with the crew's early charm and reckless courage.

⚠ Background — may contain spoilers
Adventure in the Ocean's Navel was the first One Piece television special, produced by Toei Animation and broadcast in 2000, during the anime's opening year. These early specials gave fans extra content between regular episodes, telling quick original stories with the small starting crew. As an anime-original tale, it does not appear in Eiichiro Oda's manga and holds no canon significance. It is a fun snapshot of a simpler era, when the world of One Piece was still being introduced and a single mysterious island could carry an entire special all on its own. A charming little relic from the crew's earliest days.
