Story

Synopsis

In the debris-choked Thunderbolt Sector, Federation pilot Io Fleming and Zeon sniper Daryl Lorenz fight a war that has already destroyed both their homes and most of what either of them cared about. Io listens to jazz while flying and Daryl fights from a prosthetic rig, and neither man's cause is presented as remotely worth what it costs. The film compiles the first OVA arc into a theatrical presentation, keeping its unusually mature tone and its refusal to designate either side as sympathetic. Every victory in this sector costs both sides more than the ground is worth.
