Kanan is an arrogant, high-ranking demon who leaves the underworld to feast upon the sweetest delicacy imaginable: the untainted soul of a pure human teenager. Infiltrating an ordinary high school, she targets Youji Kyougi, an unassuming male student who seems like easy prey. However, when she attempts to harvest his essence, a flustered misunderstanding results in Youji believing she is confessing her romantic love for him. Bound together by an accidental lovers pact, the millennia-old demon is completely unequipped to handle hand-holding, sweet compliments, and blushing adolescent dates, turning her terrifying hunt into hilarious romantic panic.

Adapted from the supernatural romantic comedy manga by nonco published in *Weekly Shonen Magazine*, *Kanan-sama wa Akumade Choroi* was produced by Studio KAI for television broadcast in spring 2026. The anime captivated romance and comedy audiences with its delightful gap-moe premise, contrasting Kanan's proud demonic heritage with her comically fragile romantic defenses. Studio KAI's adaptation earned praise for its bright visual presentation, expressive comedic reaction faces, and the charming vocal chemistry between the easily flustered demon lord and her earnest mortal boyfriend.
