Synopsis
Kiki turns thirteen, which by witch tradition means leaving home for a year to establish herself independently in a new town. She settles in a seaside city with her cat Jiji and starts a delivery service, the only marketable skill she has being flight. What follows is less a fantasy adventure than an unusually honest depiction of a first job, isolation among strangers, and the creative burnout that arrives when something that used to be effortless suddenly is not. Every small setback lands harder because nothing external is causing any of it.
