Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time
Shin Evangelion Movie:|| · シン・エヴァンゲリオン劇場版𝄇 · 2021
Shinji finally faces the end of his own story.
Synopsis
Years after the devastating events of the previous film, Shinji Ikari is a broken shell of himself, wandering a ruined world alongside familiar faces trying to figure out what comes after apocalypse. As old friends and enemies converge for one final confrontation over the fate of humanity itself, the film pushes toward closure not just for its plot, but for Shinji's entire, decades-long psychological journey. It is dense, visually audacious, and deeply personal, finally offering the Evangelion franchise's most direct, hopeful answer yet to the question it has been asking since 1995: can Shinji actually learn to accept himself?

An emotionally monumental and deeply cathartic finale that finally brings Hideaki Anno's legendary saga to a transcendent close.
Read full reviewOverly busy visuals and a somewhat inscrutable final act don’t detract too much from a hopeful and positive finale.
