Story
Synopsis
While playing in the backyard, five-year-old Shinnosuke Nohara stumbles across an ancient wooden box containing a handwritten letter written in his own scrawl. Inadvertently transported back through time to 1574 during the Warring States Sengoku period, Shin-chan arrives in the small province of Kasuga. There, he accidentally saves the life of noble samurai general Matabe Ijiri from a sniper ambush. Soon, Hiroshi, Misae, and baby Himawari arrive in their family car using the time rift, becoming honored guests of Princess Ren while a rival warlord's massive invasion army marches toward Kasuga.

Matabe harbors a deep, unspoken love for Princess Ren, but their vast social status gap prevents their marriage. During the climactic siege, the Nohara family uses their modern car to smash through enemy palisades, allowing Matabe's cavalry to rout the invaders and force the rival lord to surrender. Just as victory is celebrated and Matabe expresses gratitude to Shin-chan, a stray sniper bullet mortally wounds the samurai. Matabe passes away peacefully in Shin-chan's arms, having protected his princess, and the grieving Noharas return safely to the modern era carrying his short sword.
