Story

Synopsis

Akari is shining as Starlight Queen and her unit with Ichigo has completed a successful first live event, but Ichigo, Aoi, and Ran are now third-years with graduation six months away and no clear sense of what comes afterward. The film works backward toward where everything started, giving the original trio most of its attention and treating the end of their time at Starlight Academy as a genuine turning point. It closes a story that began nearly a decade before its release. Every performance carries the weight of an ending nobody in the group wants.

Released in 2023 as a follow-up to the earlier Mirai e no Starway film, this entry serves as a conclusion to the original Aikatsu series, arriving roughly seven years after Akari Oozora was crowned Starlight Queen. The Aikatsu franchise, built around Bandai's arcade card game, ran extensively across television, film, and merchandise, and this film was made explicitly for the audience that grew up with the original cast rather than for children currently engaging with the franchise. Its target audience was clearly the generation that grew up alongside the original cast.
