Attack on Titan, in order
“Titans, tears, and one very confusing candy bar ad. All in order.”
Let's be honest: the Attack on Titan TV seasons are easy. Watch them in order, done. It's everything else, the recap movies, the chibi comedy shorts, the crossover ads, that trips people up. And there's a lot of everything else.
Here's the thing nobody tells you: some of these aren't meant to be watched as random "extra" content you bolt on whenever you feel like it. A few were released specifically to bridge story gaps, recap certain arcs, or remind you what's going on right before a new season dropped. Watch them out of order and you'll either spoil something or just end up confused about why a chibi version of Levi is suddenly yelling at you.
So this list threads all of it, the movies, the OVAs, the Junior High spin-off, yes even the Snickers commercial, into the order they were actually meant to slot into. Follow it top to bottom and everything lands exactly where it should. No detours into confusion.
One honest note: not everything here moves the main story forward. Some of it is pure bonus content, gag shorts, ad collabs, nostalgia. We've flagged what's essential and what's just for fun, so you can build your own version of "complete".
The one that starts it all. A wall, a titan, and a kid who won't stop screaming about revenge. Essential, obviously.
A TV special mixing new footage with a Season 1 recap. Small, but not pointless.
Chibi comedy shorts bundled with the Season 1 Blu-rays. Pure fluff, zero plot.
The first recap movie, covering roughly the first half of Season 1. Skip it if you've already watched the show.
The second recap movie, with a bit of new Levi backstory footage folded in. Slightly more worth your time than the first one.
A gag spin-off imagining the whole cast as middle schoolers. Not canon, not serious, kind of delightful anyway.
A goofy crossover short made to promote an actual Tokyo tower. Yes, really. Blink and you'll miss it.
An OVA adapting a light novel side story about Mikasa and Annie's pasts. Actually worth watching, unlike most of the bonus stuff here.
The recap movie covering Season 2, with a little extra footage folded in. Handy if it's been a while.
More chibi gag shorts, this batch bundled around Season 3. Watch for the laughs, not the plot.
A genuinely bizarre candy bar commercial where celebrities get turned into titans. We can't explain it either.
A compilation movie recapping the story up through Season 3. A good refresher before the Final Season, not much else.
The last batch of gag shorts, bundled with the Final Season. A light breather before things get heavy.
A newer theatrical recut retelling the entire ending as one film. Good if you want the story's climax as one big cinematic gut-punch.
